Ancona is an important commercial port of the Adriatic Sea operating mainly with the Balkans area and Greece since 300 a.d. Ancona is a quiet and nice city with interesting historic parts and natural beauties and it is the main town of the Marche Region.

Located in the center of Italy, as Tuscany and Umbria Regions, Marche Region presents all the colours of this part of Italy: the transparency of the sea, the green of the hills and the blue of the mountains. Flat, wide and sandy beaches are in the North of Ancona, while high, small and stony beaches are in the South of Ancona.
Historical sites of Romanic, Middle Age and Renaissance periods are distributed around Ancona and all over the territory of the Region Marche.
